AKC – Round 1
After all our hard work during the off season, we headed to South Australia for the 1st Round of AKC, held in Monarto. After topping the time sheets in free practice our weekend started to fade after a not so great qualifying. We managed to finish p3 in the Prefinal but with a few drop downs we were starting out of p7 overall for the final. We had a great start and at one stage was in p4, but everything slowly went downhill and we managed to finish p8.
With the next round of AKC in 6 weeks we are back to work, trying new things to better ourselves and hopefully our result in WA.
Vic State Titles
with only a few days in between AKC and State Titles, we went up to do our best and we did. We managed to Qualify 2nd which was a big improvement from the weekend prior and followed it with p2 in all the remaining heat races.
The Final started perfect and we saw ourselves in with a great chance to win. We went straight to the lead on about lap 4 and stayed in the lead for the majority of the race before a small mistake and run off saw us fall back to p3 and give the front two a gap. Not what I really wanted considering we were one of the fastest all weekend, but a p3 is still a podium, and I felt I put in a lot of effort to get there!
